Is life drawing fine art?
Life drawing is widely recognized as the foundation for fine art education. Since the human body represents the most complex of creations, drawing is considered as one of the most difficult artistic challenges that an artist must face.

With our eyes, we can see both less and more than the camera. We're incapable of focusing on more than one thing at a time, so to see each element of the scene we have to shift our gaze from one object to another. By centering on something in our visual field, we can see it in detail and with strong color and contrast.
Types of Drawing
They can be broken down into three different types: realistic, symbolic, and expressive modes of drawing.
A still life is a drawing or painting that focuses on still objects. The subject matter is inanimate and never moves, typically with a focus on household objects, flowers, or fruits. Still life work contrasts figure drawing which focuses on a live human model.
Life drawing techniques can be roughly divided into two categories: formulaic techniques and observational techniques With the formulaic techniques, you apply a formula to locate some main anatomical landmarks.
Realism in the arts is generally the attempt to represent subject matter truthfully, without artificiality and avoiding speculative and supernatural elements. The term is often used interchangeably with naturalism, although these terms are not synonymous.
The life class developed in the studios of artists and craftsmen who took on pupils, but it assumed a more formal status in the first art “academy”, which was set up by the painter and art historian Giorgio Vasari in Florence in 1563.
It's possible to see improvements by drawing only 1-2 hours per day. But if you want to see significant improvements you should be aiming for 5-6 hours per day, or more if possible. Starting anywhere is better than never starting.

Can you be too old to draw?

You can practice by making multiple quick sketches of people in public places, or draw human figures from memory and imagination. Draw ancient sculptures and casts. They are very patient “models” and have perfect classical proportions.
Making a commitment to draw everyday, for even just a few minutes, will lead to drastically substantial results. You may not see these improvements everyday, but you will over time. Creating a drawing habit, and sticking with it, will improve your skills – it's almost guaranteed.

The phrase “drawing from life” does not mean the same thing as “life drawing”. The idea of drawing from life is just drawing from the real world. But life drawing and figure drawing are basically synonyms and mean the same thing: to practice drawing from a live model in various poses in a model room.

Is life more important than art?
`Life is more important than art' wrote James Baldwin, `that's why art is important'. A novelist, playwright and essayist, Baldwin was concerned with the dynamic and contingent relationship between art and everyday life.
Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our world. It is an essential part of our culture because it allows us to have a deeper understanding of our emotions; it increases our self-awareness, and also allows us to be open to new ideas and experiences.
Doodle drawing might be one of the easiest possible ways to draw a picture. The fact that it is such a free-form method of drawing also takes away any fear of failure: doodling is the place where you can do no artistic wrong. Everyone can doodle, whether it's rows of hearts and stars, or more involved scenes or shapes.
